                         Pacific General
                            Scenario:
                Operation SeaLion 1940 (enhanced)
                           Release 1.7

IMPORTANT:
To play this scenario at all, it is imperative that you are using the
enhanced equipment roster for Pacific General. The roster adds many
new units not available in the "official" releases from SSI, which this
scenario uses. The roster is fully compatible with the Pacific General
main game, scenarios and campaign, so there's no reason why not to use
it! The enhanced equipment roster can be found on the web at the
Pacific General Armory... the site's address is:
http://ourworld.compuserve.com/homepages/sgt_stryker/pacgen.htm

INSTALLATION:
After unzipping this file, copy or move the "sealion.scn" file into
the "save" directory of your Pacific General folder. To play, choose
the "Start a Scenario" option on the main screen... next choose the
"Load Homemade Scenario" button from the bottom of the screen, then
select the "sealion.scn" file and you are ready to play!

THE SITUATION:
It is September 1st, 1940... the Germans have decimated the British RAF
during the Battle of Britain and Hitler has set his sites on the soil
of England now! Though the Germans have nominal control of the skies
over the English channel and southern England, the Germans still fear
the British Navy... the German Kriegsmarine is still suffering from the
losses of the Norway invasion, and the newly commisioned Bismark is on
sea-trials in the Baltic. The Germans have scraped together as many
available ships as the Kriegsmarine can muster and have opted to cross
the English Channel under the cover of a surprise night crossing, with
thier troops landing at dawn!

Now with the white cliffs of Dover in sight, the Royal Navy has made a
powerful sortie to thwart the invasion... but as dawn breaks, the might
of the Luftwaffe will definately make its presence known over the
English Channel and southern England!

It is up to the Germans to march across England as quickly as possible
before "neutral" America begins to get too many supplies to the English
ports at Liverpool. England must be crushed quickly so the campaign in
the west can be completed before the Wehrmacht turns it's attention
eastwards, ever eastwards... to the stretches of the Soviet Union!

GAMEPLAY:
This is not a direct port of the original PanzGeneral Operation Sea
Lion. Though it is based on that scenario, and many things are similar
to the original, there have been a number of changes, additions and
enhancements to make this scenario differant and refreshing; many tied
into the fact that the new Pacific General game engine is being used.

With the PacGen engine being used, several new features are now used in
the scenario... the addition of night turns (every fourth turn... the
sequence is 3 days, 1 night), and expanded/enhanced naval rules will
be noticed right-off, so plan accordingly.

New objectives must be taken, with the province of Cornwall comes
Exeter and Plymouth, and in the north, Liverpool and Manchester just to
name a few.

The scenario is NOT optimally balanced for a two player game. The
British are at a bit of an advantage, so for single player games
players of any sort of experience should play as the Germans for a
challenge. For players inexperienced or who routinely have a tough
time winning, try playing the British.

So settle down and get to business... Release 1.7 includes a fix to the
fortification/road hex bug near London, and other minor map changes,
including the fixing of some bridge bugs and road connectivity. Make
sure you're using the latest equipment file!
